27-March-2019 / Wednesday / 10:30 - 11:00
LOCATION : P09
Between 2015 and 2019, the European Union supported student mobility from ASEAN countries to selected higher education institutions in 10 European countries. Drawing on the Erasmus+ academic exchange programme, the SHARE ASEAN-EU scholarship was designed to strengthen regional collaboration as well as the development of regional frameworks for student mobility, quality assurance and international partnerships. Being the only participating higher education institution in one of the European countries, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria was able to gain experience with this unique exchange framework. The SHARE scholarship allowed the institution to host students from ASEAN countries with which no previous activities have occurred, increasing diversity and inclusion on campus. The presenter will share experience with the SHARE scholarship framework, the process as well as lessons learned and recommendations for the future. In addition, the value of fostering student diversity and inclusion of physically and culturally distant partner countries will be elaborated and critically reflected.
