TRANSNATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION AND 21st CENTURY EDUCATION
Innovation and Change: Building University Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
Traditional models for transnational education (TNE) are insufficient in responding to the prevailing trends of Higher Education 4.0 in the ASEAN region and reflecting on the era of “Global Competition 2.0” in the global landscape. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) strive to set up effective programs in order to create synergy among all stakeholders of the HEI community. Effective university entrepreneurship programs build an ecosystem and develop long-term and successful TNE partnership among the universities, government and industry. This session explores the comparative practices in building university entrepreneurship ecosystem in three APAIE host cities, Kuala Lumpur, Vancouver BC, and Taipei. Presenters from National Taiwan University (NTU), National University of Malaysia (UKM), and Simon Fraser University (SFU) will share how the three universities foster entrepreneurial environments in relations to international partnership, local government, and the industry. Participants to the session will take away insights as to how to cope with the call for innovation and change while nourishing diversity and inclusivity in the greater university community.
