ABSTRACT:
"How to make a global impact and raise research performance as a new S&T univesity" Co-authored by Dr. Sang H. Soh, President , DGIST. It is a crucial issue for a new S & T university particularly in Korea where several S & T universities are being popped up. More coming in different regiona areas. Government, when they allocate the national budget, they would meausre the global impact of each S &T university.In a short period of time, how to make a global impact is a huge issue as a new starting S & T university. In parallel, research performance tends to be measure more in citiation rather in per capita publication. In that regard, a new S & T university is struggling as the faculty consists of young fellows who do not have enough citation records. How to raise research performance (citaion in particular) is a big issue as a new S & T university such ad DGIST. In this presentation, I and President Son will introduce how DGIST has gone this painfrul steps and how to be ready for fly into the world of competition particularly in science and technology area. DGIST experiences will be intensely delivered.
