Nor Hisham Hamid is the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Malaysia. He first joined UTP in 1999 as a lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department and was later promoted to Associate Professor before assuming his current position in April 2016. The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni has the overall responsibilities for providing leadership and direction on the formulation, development, implementation and monitoring of student experience and student development strategic initiatives, programmes and activities.
He received his BSc degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering from University of Rochester, USA and MSc degree in Manufacturing System Engineering from University of Warwick, UK. He earned his PhD in Electronics Engineering from University of Edinburgh, Scotland. His research interests are in nano-devices modeling, fault-tolerant architectures, microfluidic lab-on-chip, reliability and testing of sensors, MEMS and microfluidics systems.
